smaller basements closer friends.

mentally unprepared when someone mentioned this band the other day.  someone in the know, but far from what i called home.  feverish, ive devoured lyrics, hours, miles, and sbb shows in basements of houses i lived in.  an integral part of my late late teens as i branched out over the country side with skateboard in hand.  like the first time i heard these lyrics, today, shivering with nostalgia, i thought of a home so far off and distant, friends i havent (and should have) kept up with, music i left/lost along the way.  lansing michigan was never too far north, at the intersection of 69 and 94.  fort wayne and friends, you are missed.

"As far as this winter goes we don't feel the deep snow
But it's cold wherever i go, it feels cold wherever i go.
The smell of the heater core warms up the cold car as we climb the hand north.
The sound of the northern air warns us it's too far but it's a risk,
We must care it's a bridge we must bear.
The sight of your face again completes the long drive
one of the four reasons why it feels whole to be alive.
Brother gone north please come home to stay brother gone north, make this a holiday.."

Brilliant, thanks for putting it up, more musical enlightenment from the sick racer.

Excellent post. I grew up with them at I94 & I69... a great reference; played with them in a band that preceded SBB and skated a bunch. Found bikes just before leaving the band and Lansing. Found this on 11-23, my birthday. Every hair stood on end. Haven't heard it in a long time. Very heavy, indeed. Thanks.
